Back when Chimp was part of the last Backjumps, word got to me of a mighty tome about one of the greatest ongoing exhibitions/art festivals...BACKJUMPS ...well the 320 page €30 book is coming soon..real make way on your bookshelves!

London Lister...

One of the good ones, Lister, is back in London and last night i caught up with him, ready to launch some amazing prints from Elms Lester...
Lister was over to sign the prints, and while he was here he took the oppurtunity to create some awesome new works, which will be shown at the launch..this sundayat Elms Lester between a one day only deal (three hours to be even more precise), so you know if your in London you gotta be there!
Previously i said that these works were to be a part of a group show with adam neate ..this i got totally wrong, there is no impending group show - sorry!
PS coming soon at Elms Lester - Phil Frost book signing! WHAT!
PPS thanks to Fiona for the corrections!

The prints...awesome...

Out back, caught sight of a rare STASH tag...[PS its FAKE to all those that think the subware king is losing his touch!]

This is another of those posts where i find it difficult to write, as i end up over gushing due to my love of the subject but fuck it! this is my blog and im only gonna post shit that i love, and if there was one initial reason why i wanted to start a blog, it was to tell the world when i get excited about art, knowing that sometimes not everyone knows what im talking about, when they should due to its awesomness...anyway this post perfectly sums up why i do the dilly/blog...because there is amazing amazing talent working today that i believe should be on everyones radar, rather than the same old same old...

Saturday mornings are always difficult for getting up largely due to a raging hangover (alcaholic? me? of course!)...but today i was woken by the postman and i am so glad he got me up...because he was delivering one hell of a package...
my day was first made when i saw the stickers on the package (see last photo attatched) but when i opened it up i realised i had been generously sent Samuel Francois' catalogue 'Its OK?'...and fuck me is he amazing!
I have posted him on this blog before, but some of the photos printed in this beautiful catalogue were new to me and they truly blew me away...his stuff is just fantastic and i really don't understand why he isnt bigger! seriously, he is one of my favourite installation artists working today (along with colen, mckimens, paperrad, , powers, mcgee and a few others)...i am so grateful i was lucky enough to receive this booklet, thank you Samuel..i have posted some scans from it below in case you cant cop a copy...
PS I know good people read this blog...if you run a space get Samuel Francois in as soon as possible!

And again...his website that you must go to...Samuel

*Next Level Shit

2008 is gonna be great

I LOVE new years!
I love the thought that the year ahead will bring unexpected bands and artists that will enter and rule my nerdy life and make me 08 this AMAZING looking book is dropping and if this book is anything to go by, 2008 is going to be GREAT!

Human 5 R.I.P

Human Five, one of the worlds most exciting (and overlooked in my opinion...) art groups has come to an, if this was a band who split it would be a sad day, as it would mean a shit future of nothingness or back to the old day job at the factory...but this aint no band, this is human five, and all the individual members are already locked on course for bigger and better things .. so it is kinda sad news, but in the big picture everythings a ok for them, so this is more a celebration than a funeral of their talents ... but if your in barcelona, make sure to check the show...i knew i would if i had a) more that £0 in the bank

"Hi all,

I would like to invite you to the last and first show in Europe of my collective, Humanfive.
It will be the last one because after 8 years working together, we've decided after this show that the group will come
to an end because of natural reasons.
The show's title is "Kick the Bucket" and it will run through to mid-February.
I hope to see you all there!

January 10th at 8 PM
Galeria Victor Saavedra
